Deep drawing and shaping of copper, aluminium,

steel, stainless steel, titanium and brass

by Geerts Dieptrekken.

Copper

With copper, it is possible to also manufacture asymmetrical forms with deep drawing. The soft material makes annealing unnecessary. Geerts can deep draw copper with a maximum thickness of 5 mm.

Copper finishing done by Geerts:

  • Degreasing
  • Tinning
  • Grinding/polishing
  • Coating
  • Lacquering

Aluminium

This type of material is perfect for deep drawing. However, it does require some effort to achieve a good product. With the proper choice of base material and the research that we have done with deep drawing of aluminium, we know the limits. With aluminium products manufactured by deep drawing, there is no need for annealing. Aluminium can be deep-drawn at Geerts to a thickness of 5 mm.

Finishing of aluminium:

  • Degreasing
  • Anodisation
  • Chromating
  • Powder coating
  • Tinning

Stainless steel

Stainless steel (and not rust-free as often indicated) is one of the hardest materials for deep drawing. Because of its extensive experience with this material, Geerts is unrivalled in its ability to manufacture excellent products. As a result of the tension generated in the material during the deep drawing, annealing is often required. Geerts can do deep drawing on stainless steel to a maximum of 3 mm.

Finishing of stainless steel:

  • Degreasing
  • Grinding
  • Pickling and passivation
  • Electro-polishing
  • Coating
